Description:  Duke Otherwise has started a song and needs you to help him finish it!  Duke will demonstrate a few different aspects of songwriting while getting ideas from the class to (hopefully) create a masterpiece.  Kids will learn basic song structure, elements of writing (rhyme, alliteration, etc.) as well as ways to think "outside the box."  Participants in the workshop will then get to perform the song onstage with Duke later that day.

About the instructor:  Duke Otherwise is otherwise known as Noah Riemer, a former Burlington resident.  Since 1998, Noah has been writing and performing music all around the world.  He released three albums as the frontman of folk band Ticklepenny Corner, one solo album, and now his latest "Creepy Crawly Love" as clever children's musician, Duke Otherwise.   Covering many different styles and topics, Noah has written hundreds of songs over the years, and has just finished his latest batch of witty Duke Otherwise tunes to be released this fall.
