More Tall Tales artists announced!

We're keeping the announcement train rolling along this week! We are pleased to welcome the following artists to our 2016 lineup:

Erin Rae & The Meanwhiles (Nashville, TN)

With a voice that swoons and soothes...(Erin Rae’s) songs rustle up comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne
— Rolling Stone

J-Council (Fox Cities, WI)

Kaukauna, WI native Jon Wheelock spent much of the past two decades with a bass guitar in his hands, most notably as a member of Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons. Now he's stepping in front of the lead microphone for the first time, as frontman for an exciting new soul music project.

Trapper Schoepp (Milwaukee, WI)

Story songs that explore and explode the conventions of rock and roll.
— PBS

Auralai (Oshkosh, WI)

Classical beauty meets contemporary pop rhythm and melody. Sometimes haunting, sometimes hilarious; always fiercely engaging.

Seasaw (Madison, WI)

A charming duo that tickles bone-deep with a subtle simplicity, the string and vocal driven core of their work is fleshed out by a variety of percussion, odd instruments, & smart lyrical intent that is delivered with potency and sweetly fuzzy articulation.
— Mid West Music Fest

Peter Mulvey (Milwaukee, WI)

His voice feels like fine old leather, and his guitar sounds like it’s on steroids... a superb technician...
— The Boston Globe

Simon Balto (Indianapolis, IN)

Caught me by the side and...knocked me over. Beautiful and filled with emotion.
— Stephanie Elkins (Simply Folk)

John Statz (Denver, CO)

John writes the kind of songs that float through your mind, seeking purpose and stay nestled in your thoughts long after listening.
— American Songwriter

Cory Chisel's Soul Obscura to headline Tall Tales!

What do Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Booker T. & The MG's, and The Staple Singers have in common? In addition to being soul music legends, they all recorded at legendary Memphis record label Stax Records. We are so excited to announce that our friend Cory Chisel, along with a very impressive group of his Nashville friends, will bring the Stax sound to Burlington on Saturday, August 23. Save the date, dust off your best pair of dancing shoes, and get ready for that sweet soul music!
